Monolith wirkt als gedankliche Meditation über das Individuelle hinweg, hin zu einer politischen Diskussion über gesellschaftliche, ökonomische und soziale Baubedingungen der privaten und industriellen Bauindustrie innerhalb der türkischen Ökonomie. Solche Bedingungen führen unter anderem zu einer humanitären Katastrophe, wie wir sie im Osten der Türkei und in Syrien im Februar 2023, ausgelöst durch das jüngste Erdbeben, zumindest medial miterleben, wenn politisch Bedingungen für unsichere Baukonstruktionen in Erdbebengebieten geschaffen werden.

Thus Monolith, both as an attempt of meditation and critique on political and structural conditions of the Turkish construction industry, as well as a metaphysical examination of processes of the construction of meaning, which we impose on objects such as sand-stone-building-architecture, to produce spatial and mental realities.
